ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management - Introduction

Achieve a distinctive competitive edge over your competition through the implementation of an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System. This is the latest version of the Quality Management standard (previously BS5750). It is the standard against which an organisation’s Quality Management System is evaluated and has been developed such that it can be applied to any organisation regardless of its business activities.
Achievement of certification is internationally recognised and can provide numerous benefits in terms of:

  • Increased business – some organisations will only take services/products from certified suppliers and others often see it as an important differentiator.
  • Improved internal efficiency and less waste through clearly defined and measurable processes
  • Helping you to stay in tune with the needs of your customers and hence improve the quality of your service/product in line with their requirements.

iso 9001:2000Q1 Consulting can provide a range of services related to the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management standard from implementation to the review and update of an existing system.

Whatever your needs, Q1 can work with you to provide only what you need, therefore if your preference is to carry out most of the work yourself, utilising internal resources, this can be accommodated. Alternatively, should this resource not be available, Q1 can provide a total service.

Standard services include:

  • ISO 9001:2000 implementation
  • ISO 9001:2000 review and update of an existing system
  • Transition from the 1994 standard to the 2000 version
  • Management of an existing system
  • Customer Satisfaction Surveys

ISO 9001:2000 Implementation

This is the implementation of a Quality Management System where your organisation currently has no such system in place. It involves the following stages:

  • Gap analysis - Assessment of your business processes against the standard
  • Development of an action plan to address any shortfalls
  • Development of a Quality Manual, including Policy and Process Metrics
  • Development of Quality procedures
  • Training in procedures where required
  • Pre-certification audits
  • Certification by your chosen regulatory body

Q1 can also provide guidance in relation to the formulation of Quality Objectives and the implementation of process performance measures (Metrics), which are a requirement of the standard.
